So the Department of Homeland Security today declassified a report that says anyone who disagrees with any liberal agenda item is a right-wing extremist and possible terrorist. The report sites the following as reasons to suspect an increase in recruits with no evidence to support this report:

  1. The economic downturn
  2. The first African American President

They say these two present unique drivers for right-wing radicalization and recruitment . They say that the right-wing extremists have capitalized on the election of the First African American President to recruit new members, mobilize existing members and broaden their scope and appeal through propaganda, BUT THEY(RIGHT-WING RADICALS) HAVE NOT YET TURNED TO ATTACK PLANNING.

In the report they also state that returning war veterans are also possible extremist terrorists. If you do not agree with the current administration or the liberal agenda on the following items:

  1. Reject federal authority in favor of state or local authority.
  2. Opposed to abortion.
  3. Or opposed to Immigration. Which includes illegal immigration.
  4. Opposed to firearm restrictions and weapon bans . Indicated by high volume of stockpiling of weapons and ammunition.
  5. Opposed to BHO Policy changes of any kind.
  6. A returning war veteran

This report is disturbing because at a time when we have stopped calling Islamic extremists terrorists and called the war on terror an “overseas contingency operation”, they are focusing on their opposition by labeling everyone that does not agree with their liberal agenda a right-wing extremist.

It has saddened me to see how quickly this country has moved to an Orwellian 1984 society. The good news is that the Tax Day Tea Party events that are taking place tomorrow will show Washington, Democrat or Republican, that we are not going to let them spend our money and raising our taxes. This is peaceful and we are not a threat. We are regular American citizens who were tired of the Bush years of wasteful spending, but these past 3 months have gone well over the line.

These American citizens are not just Conservative, Libertarian, or Republican. They are also Democrats, Moderate Democrats and Moderate Republicans are tired of the spending in Washington. Go to http:/www.taxdayteaparty.com to find an event near you and show Washington that we are not Right-wing extremists, we are American Citizens who want their Republic back.

God Bless

January 26, 2009 A date that an Assessment on “Left-wing Extremist” was released (http://www.fas.org/irp/eprint/leftwing.pdf).

The average politico, didn’t hear much about it, on any political news channel. This Assessment was already pre-dated by the Bush Administration, and you can put two and two together and get why hardly any of the media covered it, one its the beginning of a new presidential term, and he is left-wing, so they didn’t want to make him look bad, and then the right-wing media didn’t want to cover it because of the Bush admin predating it. The left-wing memo is often overlooked and it happened this year!

Now saying that, I don’t agree with the Assessment on right-wing, for one reason. It groups people together as domestic terrorist, who believe in the same common interest, (i.e. abortion, or illegal immigration). That’s my problem with it. I do believe there are right-wing extremist and white supremacist, there are. Just as there are left-wing extremist, but the difference in the 2 Assessments is that in the Right-wing extremist, it groups them all together, under “one common interest”.

That’s the only thing I have to respectfully disagree with you about, is that we hear all the talking heads ranting about this Assessment but they fail to remember the past, when the left-wing Assessment was issued. Now I not changing my views about these issues(abortion and such), I’m just changing the way I go about looking at these Assessments and how they are covered, because I don’t want to compromise my values or forget the past. These Assessments are necessary, I honestly believe they are, both Assessments that is, but in my opinion this is all a political boxing match, one party throws the punch, the next throws back.

None the less, I enjoy reading what you have to write, keep it up. Cheers!

I know about the Left-wing memo as well. The Bush Administration may have been the ones to request this. But the information that was used to justify the lumping of anyone who disagrees with liberal policies as extremists leads you to believe that this was mostly written in the last few weeks. This was also written with no tangible facts to support saying if you disagree with even one issue with the Left, then you are somehow a domestic terrorist. I agree that threat assessments are needed and necessary, but this one wreaked of a political hit piece. Thanks for reading and commenting. Be safe Chris.

Precisely my point, that it is lumping these people who believe in the issues into a “terrorist group”. The 2 Assessments however similiar in form, were very misleading in the fine print, (i.e. the point above). To me though to be honest it’s kind of getting old, kind of like the same old politics, I know how outrageous this is too, because I’M CONSIDERED a TERRORIST, but I just think its time to move on past petty issues and non-important issues. That is all. I mean let’s get off the they did this, they called us that, this that and the other, and let’s get back to the main problems that we face, not these stupid name callings like “rightwing extremist, and leftwing extremist.” Take care.
